Bruce Baumgarten
Bruce began I.T. consulting with the national office in 1998.
He established the first client-server network in the office that year
and the first NFCYM public website in 1999. In September 2010, he was hired as the full-time Director of Technology.
Education and Previous Experience
Bruce holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Georgetown University, a Master's Degree in Religious Education from Fordham University and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Advanced Studies in Youth Ministry from Loyola University Chicago.
His career began in parish youth ministry and progressed through service at the diocesan and national levels before returning to parish ministry in Washington DC. There he transitioned into technology work as a parish director of communications and as web developer and director of communications for the Maryland Province Jesuits. From 2005-2010, Bruce was the Director of Technology for the Washington Theological Union.
Personal
Bruce was born and raised in New Jersey and has been married for twenty-three years to Kathy Carver (Associate Director of NFCYM). They are the proud parents of 19-year-old Christine Carver Baumgarten. They reside in Laurel, MD.
After his family and technology, Bruce's passions center around the music of Bruce Springsteen.
