Michael Theisen

Michael began his position with the NFCYM on November 1, 2005.

Education and Professional Experience


Michael Theisen has been in youth ministry since 1984, serving for eight years in various roles at the parish level in Richmond, Virginia, including youth ministry coordinator, director of religious education, and pastoral social worker. He then served as director of youth ministry for the Diocese of Rochester for 13 years at which time he also began writing extensively for both Saint Mary’s Press and NFCYM, where he helped to develop the annual Youth Ministry Resource Manual.

Michael has a master's of religious education degree from Loyola University in New Orleans (1991) and bachelor (1982) and master (1983) degrees in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Personal

Michael continues to learn much from his wife, Mary, and their three children—Christopher (20), David (18), and Rachel (9). Michael and his family reside in Rochester, New York.
