The Technological Tipping Point:
MTS Customizes Ministry Formation Solutions for the Catholic Church

Ministry Training Source provides customized ministry formation solutions for the church. Celebrating nine years as a nonprofit organization, we are focused on helping the church understand and effectively utilize the latest Web 2.0 technologies. To this end, we presented a paper on Lay Ministry Formation 2.0 at the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry biennial gathering earlier this year. Charlotte McCorquodale, Ph.D., presented a workshop on Web 2.0 and what it means for our church at the National Association for Lay Ministry conference in May. There is a definite “buzz” in ministry circles surrounding this topic.

Ministry Training SourceWe are excited to see many organizations embracing Web 2.0 and putting technology to good use in ministry. We also believe that we may finally be seeing a “tipping point” in the church. MTS introduced “Ministry in a Flash 1.0” at the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry—all of our resources for youth ministry and much more on a flash drive—and is excited to have MIF 2.0 available now. Technology is embraced by young people, the digital natives, and we, as digital immigrants, must take seriously the challenge to use these tools to provide effective ministry in the church. MTS is committed to bringing this vision to reality.
