Adult Training and Certification: Professionalism in Ministry

Projects in the Works

  • Several steady and solid projects arise from the Adult Training and Certification Management Committee (ATCMC). We are in the process of preparing a proposal for a new task group, Pathways to Ministry, partnering with NACYML. They have already selected a representative to be on such a task group when approved.
  • TrainingOne newly formed task group is the Diocesan Leader Job Description chaired by Mark Mann.
  • Training Services is reviewing a recommendation for an in-service which is being piloted as individual parish presentations that involve and engage parents. Possibilities include developing a one-hour in-service presentation for parishes that would "train the trainers." It would equip the diocese to replicate this effort within multiple parishes and schools. They would receive a tool (flash drive or CD with the PowerPoint) for these purposes.

Building Up the Community: NDDI, ATCMC Needs and Hopes

  • NDDI has concluded yet another wonderful institute for our new diocesan leaders. This service remains critical in light of leadership changes we have seen over the last several years. In light of these changes, we continue to ask these questions of our ministerial colleagues: What resources do you know of that enable people to respond to the call of ministry? What areas of training do we not attend to that would meet a present need in your diocese? The ATCMC strives to fulfill its role as it promotes professionalism for adults in Catholic youth ministry.
  • ATCMC seeks your service and advice too. We need to know who has an interest in the area of pathways to ministry and how we can serve each other. We need and pray for diverse representation as we examine roadblocks to ministry formation and responding to the call of ecclesial ministry. We also hope two new ATCMC members will come forward that can serve as liaisons to already existing task groups. Thanks all for the support!
