Region 6: Times of Delight and Dejection
Recession Hits Ohio Hard, Michigan Harder
Please tune in to the national news to hear the woes of the automobile business and woes which start in Detroit and extend through both our states. Please continue praying for all involved and/or affected by budgetary stress.
Mark Mann Stays in Grand Rapids
Contrary to all expectations, our beloved Mark Mann will continue his diocesan leadership in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bravo, Mark!
Regional Meeting on Hispanic Ministry
Our September 23-25, 2009, regional meeting will welcome diocesan leaders of Hispanic ministry for an extended conversation about implementing the Encuentro Strategic Plan.
World Youth Day at Home
In 2008, individuals who could not make it to Sydney, Australia, for World Youth Day gathered in Sidney, Ohio. In 2011, we plan to gather again, but we have not located a Madrid, Michigan, or Madrid, Ohio. Maybe we will just have to settle on meeting over the New Madrid fault.
Will Our Kids Have Faith?
Several of our dioceses have picked up Cincinnati’s Will Our Kids Have Faith? presentation program and are conducting them in their own dioceses. This high-impact presentation uses the NSYR to convey to parents and parishes the obstacles in the way of their kids’ faith, and the urgency to take action.
Columbus Welcomes Mike Hall
Veteran diocesan leader Mike Hall has relocated from West Virginia to next door Ohio, taking the position vacated by Mark Butler several months ago. Warmest welcomes to Mike and his wife!
