Surrounded by the beauty of an Iowa prairie, the NACYML Leadership Team did what comes naturally in March. They hunkered down with laptops and newsprint to explore ways to work more effectively.

Revisions will be submitted to the NFCYM board at its August meeting.

New members Cathy Becker (Rockford), Dave Gallant (Columbus), Randy Kollars (Portland, Ore.), and Mary Mueller (Kansas City, Mo.) were welcomed to the team. Mueller was discerned as vice chair; Alex Barraza is the new treasurer; Becker was discerned as the membership services chair. While details of the discernment are secret, insiders report that Barraza narrowly earned consensus based largely on his ownership of a calculator.

In April, NACYML collaborated with Ministry Training Source to offer an online course focusing on “Co-Workers in the Vineyard.” Approximately 20 people participated.

NACYML also is working with Cultivation Ministries in co-sponsoring the Institute for New Youth Ministers, to be held July 31 to August 4 in Chicago.

As of May, NACYML had 534 members. To better connect with members, leadership team members will serve as liaisons in the following regions:

  • Region 1, Mary Harrison
  • Region 2, Barb Legere
  • Regions 3 and 5, Mary Mueller
  • Regions 4 and 6, Dave Gallant
  • Region 7, Cathy Becker
  • Region 8, Pat Howard
  • Region 9, Chris Weber
  • Region 10, Alex Barraza
  • Region 11, Pat Clasby
  • Region 12, Randy Kollars
  • Region 13, Grace Cassetta
  • Region 14, Terry Aiken
