At their January 2004 Board of Directors meeting, the Catholic Youth Foundation USA (CYFUSA) awarded eight grants for the following youth ministry initiatives:
The Diocese of El Paso for their “Youth At Risk” program.- The Diocese of Memphis for their Hispanic youth ministry initiative
- The Diocese of Yakima for their National Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies program
- The National Catholic Network de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana for their Encuentro 2006 initiative
- Region 10 for their RESPECTO: Leadership Development for Hispanic Youth Leaders
- The Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University for their formation program for youth ministry coordinators in African American parishes
- The NFCYM for the National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders
- The NFCYM for the Itinerant Ministers Retreat at the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry
The Catholic Youth Foundation USA also provided $75,000 in scholarship assistance for the 2003 National Catholic Youth Conference and will provide approximately $15,000 in scholarships for the 2004 NCCYM.
CYFUSA is increasing the number of people on their board of directors in order to expand their work and support of the NFCYM, including initial planning for a special campaign for the 25th Anniversary of the NFCYM.
