join the Archdioceses of Cincinnati and Detroit.
The Diocese of Juneau focused on youth ministry as part of its professional
ministers gathering “Parish Youth Ministry: Renewing Our Vision” in
February. Parish and diocesan ministers joined Bishop Michael Warfel and were
led by Bob McCarty.
The Dioceses of Madison and Superior sponsored clergy in-services that focused
on parish youth ministry. Both programs were underwritten by a 2003 grant from
the CYFUSA.
The NFCYM collaborated with NCCL in hosting a youth ministry tract at the
2004 NCCL Conference in Albuquerque. Region 13 assisted in conducting a gathering

The NFCYM is a co-sponsor of the University of Notre Dame’s Symposium: “Transitions

The USCCB Committee on the Home Missions has awarded the NFCYM a grant of
$10,000 to provide clergy in-services on “Parish Youth Ministry: Renewing Our
Vision” next year. This grant enables the NFCYM to continue this service.
It underwrites travel and stipend expenses of presenters and provides several NFCYM
resources for participants.
The Koch Foundation has awarded the NFCYM $10,000 to support our military
youth ministry project. This grant will underwrite the development of specific
resources for the military community, provide support for the third European
Catholic Youth Conference, and enable the NFCYM to offer training to those ministering
with young people in military communities.
