The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston seeks an Associate Director for the Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization. Duties include assisting the department director with the formation of parish catechetical leaders, catechists, core teams in program development, pro-life activities with youth, pastoral care of youth and vocations awareness. Additionally, the person filling this role will aid with the planning and management of ongoing archdiocesan events for younger and older adolescents and being available for consultation from parishes seeking assistance with effective resources used in developing and/or evaluating comprehensive youth ministry programs with high emphasis on adolescent catechesis and evangelization. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Theology (a graduate degree in related fields may be considered.) and the role requires an advanced level of writing and training, therefore candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive youth ministry program strong in catechesis. Candidates must have a theology background, the ability to engage in a variety of ministries, and work dynamically in a team atmosphere with staff, clergy and a network of volunteers. Candidates should demonstrate leadership, resourcefulness and a high degree of flexibility with the competence to perform long-range planning while maintaining current project-management. Must be a practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church and be zealous in their knowledge and understanding of Church teaching, especially with regards to magisterial documents specifically focused on catechesis and evangelization. Director, Office of Worship and Sacramental Formation (Archdiocese of Baltimore)
The Archdiocese of Baltimore is in search of a Director, Office of Worship and Sacramental Formation. The Director will serve as a resource to the Archbishop and to diocesan and parish leadership in ensuring that the New Evangelization is the lens through which worship and sacramental formation is viewed. Additional responsibilities include organizing, planning, and directing archdiocesan liturgies; as well as providing formation and resources on liturgical formation. The Director is responsible for working with parishes to provide sacramental catechesis for Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick. He or she is responsible for resourcing parish leadership on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The Director also works to foster participation of the faithful in the Liturgy of the Hours. The best qualified candidate will possess: a graduate degree in theology or a related field; at least 5 years of successful experience in parish sacramental formation and liturgical ministry; experience of collaboration with Catholic schools preferred, and a working knowledge of Spanish. In addition, the successful candidate should be a person of visible and demonstrated faith in the Catholic tradition, have knowledge and understanding of the Church’s liturgical documents, and have experience in and understanding of sacramental, mystagogical, and liturgical catechesis as well as RCIA.
