Director of Athletic Ministry (Olney, Maryland)
The athletic director oversees the Saint Peter’s Athletic Association, which is part of St. Peter’s Parish youth ministry programs. This position collaborates with the parish priest, the priest’s delegate, youth ministry director, and the parish advisory board. The athletic director also administers an athletic program which allows young people to continue to grow in their faith, knowing that they are welcomed and supported by the adults of the parish community. This is a part-time position of no more than 50 hours per month. Persons wishing to apply for the position of athletic director of Saint Peter’s Athletic Association should write a letter of interest to Fr. Patrick Riffle. This letter should include information of the applicant’s previous involvement in any work with young people, as well as reasons why the parish should consider this application. Grassroots Advocacy Specialist (Baltimore, Maryland)
In support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS)’ grassroots and grasstops advocacy strategy, the Grassroots Advocacy Specialist is responsible for contributing to and implementing grassroots advocacy activities to advance CRS’ policy priorities. As a key member of the Advocacy Department staff, the Grassroots Advocacy Specialist is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and employing multiple channels to communicate the work of the CRS Advocacy Department to internal and external stakeholders and audiences that will increase knowledge, awareness, and advocacy in support of CRS’ public policy positions. The Grassroots Advocacy Specialist contributes to the CRS Advocacy Department’s grassroots and grasstops advocacy strategy and serves as the primary liaison on advocacy issues for the CRS regional offices. The Grassroots Advocacy Specialist develops tools, materials, and resources for outreach efforts to grassroots and grasstops advocates. S/he is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the growth and activity of our grassroots and grasstops constituency network; identifying and documenting best practices for grassroots and grasstops advocacy efforts and activities; and providing regular reports to internal stakeholders. The Grassroots Advocacy Specialist also provides day-to-day support to the Deputy Director and Senior Director as needed.
