NCCYM attendees are invited to take advantage of Las Vegas' dazzling array of entertainment options on Friday, December 1 (from 6:30 p.m. on). To help conference participants make an informed decision about which option is best for you, the Diocese of Las Vegas has put together the following list (with website links) to help you narrow down your search to some of the better (and recommended) entertainment options.

NCCYM Spotlight Show…
- Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular (Venetian). This favorite Tony Award-winning musical about a disfigured man and the opera singer he loves is brought to new life on the Vegas stage. Discount tickets for the Friday, Dec. 1, 7:00 p.m. performance are reduced by 10% off the regular ticket prices which range from $74.50 to $142.00. (98 KB). - Mamma Mia! (Mandalay Bay). A musical based on the music of ABBA. One of the longest running non-Cirque shows in Vegas.
- Blue Man Group (Venetian). An international sensation featuring three bald and blue characters who combine innovative music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to create a visually stunning, unique form of entertainment.
- The Producers (Caesars-Paris). Mel Brooks’ hilarious songs and story make The Producers a show everyone should see at least once: a crooked producer and his accountant cook up a scheme to present an eye-poppingly lavish theatrical fiasco—and pocket the money before the curtain falls.

- Love (Mirage). Created with help from the late George Harrison, this production evokes the exuberant and irreverent spirit of The Beatles, as interpreted through the youthful, urban energy of a cast of sixty international artists. This custom-built theatre features 360° seating, panoramic video projections and surround sound.
- Mystere (Treasure Island). An overwhelming sensory experience which is in constant motion and features high-energy acrobatics, evocative dances, colorful costumes and vivid lighting. It is a feast of colors and passions, of beauty and frailty which recalls a distant past and speaks to the future.
- O (Bellagio). An aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in this timeless production that includes synchronized swimmers, divers and characters performing in, on and above the water.
- KA (MGM Grand). It brings together astonishing acrobatic performances, the thrills and action of martial arts from all over the world, plus astonishing innovations in puppetry, multimedia and pyrotechnics. Together, they tell the epic story of a set of twins on a perilous journey to fulfill their shared destiny.
- Le Reve (Wynn). A show created by people who worked and trained with Cirque. An aquatic show in the round.
- Zumanity: Caution! This show is not recommended.
The Superstar Shows
These four headliners

- Celine Dion: A New Day (Caesar’s Palace). A spectacular pop opera featuring Celine and backed up by Cirque du Soleil. Shows Thu.-Sun. at 8:30 p.m.
- Danny Gans (Mirage). Very versatile impressionist who can sing in the voices of both men and women. During this performance, you will hear him do over sixty impressions.
- Lance Burton: Master Magician (Monte Carlo). Magic performed with a classical touch of elegance. He has a knack for incorporating young audience members to assist him on stage, which makes this one of the best shows for families on The Strip.
- Big & Rich (Las Vegas Hilton). This popular country music duo of Big Kenny (Kenny Alphin) and John Rich (formerly of Lonestar) have performed together since 1998. Their first album, Horse of a Different Color (2004) reached number one in both the Billboard national chart as well as the Billboard country music chart.
Vegas Favorites for the Budget Conscious

- Tournament of Kings (Excalibur). A thrilling dinner show with brave jousting knights in armor and feasting in medieval fashion. Wed.-Mon., 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. $55 includes dinner.
- Forever Plaid (Gold Coast). A “heavenly” musical about a '50s-style men’s singing group. Dinner and show packages available.
- Rat Pack Is Back (Greek Isles). A fun trip back to the '60s glory days of Las Vegas with impersonators recreating Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, and others.
- World's Greatest Magic Show (Greek Isles). Next to the Riviera. Friday shows at 8:15 p.m. $55.95; children 12 and under free.
- Legends in Concert (Imperial Palace). Musical tributes to Prince, Whitney, The Blue Brothers, Jay Leno, and an Elvis finale.
- Rita Rudner (soon to be changing locations). Accomplished actress, best-selling author, and comedian whose witty commentary on men and relationships has earned her national acclaim.
- A Neil Diamond Tribute (The Riviera). Starring Jay White as Neil Diamond.
- Barbara & Frank: The Concert that Never Was (The Riviera). A tribute to Streisand and Sinatra.
- The Scintas (Sahara). Four fun family members entertain with hilarious and clever impersonations and beautiful singing.
- Platters, Drifters, and Coasters (Sahara). The Platters, Cornell Gunter's Coasters, and Beary Hobb's Drifters perform some of their top 20 hits from the '50s and '60s, 7:30 p.m. nightly.
- Star Trek: The Experience (Las Vegas Hilton). A must-see for any Trekker or Trekkie. Movie props, costumes, ships on display; a restaurant and bar recreated from Deep Space 9; largest Star Trek retail area in the world; and two Star Trek-themed attraction rides. Discount tickets (up to 40-50 percent) are easily available. Open daily.
- V: The Ultimate Variety Show (Aladdin). An entire show made up of the finest specialty acts from around the world; young and old alike will enjoy the unique performers, which include comedians, jugglers, acrobats, death-defying stunts, magicians and musical performances.
- The Magic of Rick Thomas (Sahara). A delightful afternoon of amazing illusions, fabulous white tigers and stirring music for the whole family. Mon.-Sat., 2:00 p.m./4:00 p.m.
- The Price Is Right (Bally’s). A live version of the daytime game show. It does cost $39.95 and contestants must be 21 years and older to win cash or prizes. Entrance is not a guarantee of being a contestant. 8:00 p.m. show on Fridays.

- Adventuredome (Circus-Circus). America’s largest indoor theme park with 24 rides and attractions; featuring a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster. Open daily.
- Eiffel Tower (Paris). Ride to the top of a 50-story replica of the Eiffel Tower. Open daily.
- Gameworks (Showcase Mall). This 47,000-square-foot facility has nearly 200 interactive video games, the world’s largest indoor rock climbing structure and a full-service bar and grill. Open daily.
- Gondola Rides (Venetian). Ride in a gondola along a quarter-mile replica of the Grand Canal in Venice with a singing gondolier. Rides are offered every 15 minutes.
- Las Vegas Cyber Speedway (Sahara). World-class, virtual reality NASCAR racing. Featuring interactive rides, NASCAR simulators and roller coaster. Open daily.
- Madame Toussauds Interactive Wax Attraction (Venetian). Visitors are immersed in one-of-a-kind interactive experiences that create personal memories with some of the world’s biggest icons. Open daily.
- Shark Reef (Mandalay Bay). Featuring 2,000 dangerous and unusual aquatic animals from the world’s tropical waters. View 100 aquatic species, including 15 different species of sharks. Open daily.
- The Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat (Mirage). This magical garden is home to white lions, Bengal tigers and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Open daily.
