NFCYM Training In-Services
Timely. Engaging. Informative.
These dynamic and professional training in-service programs are adapted to the audience you invite! Each session is designed as a day-long comprehensive program, led by a nationally respected trainer who knows and understands the vision of youth ministry and adolescent catechesis and the importance of collaboration within the larger church. These in-services are provided for parishes, schools, dioceses and regions. Each is also available as a clergy in-service.

In-Service Grants Available for Home Mission Dioceses
Apply for a 2012 Catholic Home Missions grant to offer an NFCYM in-service in your diocese. Download the complete word document templates below and submit it to the Home Mission Coordinator in your diocese. Click here to find out if your diocese is a USCCB designated Home Mission Diocese.

Now Available
Fortaleciendo familias en la fe (Strengthening Families in the Faith)
A transliterated version of the Strong Catholic Families process developed to meet the unique family and cultural needs of Hispanic parents and the parishes that minister to them. It follows the same three session outline, culminating in a training of local leaders to enable them to present parent sessions in parishes. Includes the many resources and copyright permissions required for local use.
Program Cost: $1500 plus travel and accommodations for one presenter. Cost includes fifty copies of the Family Faith Resource booklets and access to all resources, PowerPoint’s and follow-up sessions and full copyright permissions with no expiration date. A $300 discount is offered when both the English and Spanish versions of the program are booked. Those hosting a Strong Catholic Families training may purchase the copyright permissions to the Fortaleciendo Familias resources for $500 without hosting an additional training.
Technology and Ministry
An interactive, hands-on learning lab focusing on the intentional and effective use of technology in ministry today, complete with online resource site and follow-up to help you achieve your technology ministry goals using a three-pronged focus:
- Awareness . . .of Web 2.0 technologies, resources, and tools as well as the Church’s recommendations on the use of technology in ministry.
- Assessment . . . of the challenges and liability issues faced with integrating various technologies into your ministry and identifying which ones are best suited to achieve your ministerial goals.
- Action . . . to develop smart and safe guidelines, to advocate for the proper use of technology and strategies, and for staying up to date on the ever-changing nature of new technologies.
Program Cost: $1,300 plus travel and accommodations for one onsite trainer. Cost includes an additional off-site virtual trainer and follow-up resources and support. Sufficient internet bandwidth and use of a computer lab or shared laptops by attendees is expected.
Strong Catholic Families: Strong Catholic Youth
A three-part training process for changing the way parishes partner with parents. Developed by NFCYM and presented in partnership with the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) and the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers (NACFLM). Highlights include:
Session 1: A two-hour parent program designed to model for parish leaders and locally designated presenters how to engage and partner with parents in the lifelong process of faith formation.
Session 2: A morning (three-hour) training for diocesan/parish/school leaders.
Session 3: An afternoon (three-hour) Training of the Presenters session to prepare local presenters to replicate the parent sessions at local parishes/schools within the diocese.
The complete parent session PowerPoints and numerous family faith resources and training manuals are given to the host diocese with full copyright permission to use throughout the diocese.- An excellent tool for use with all sacramental preparation programs, faith formation events and adult formation gatherings.
