New Resource Series from NFCYM
The NFCYM is no longer printing a “youth ministry resource manual.” Instead we have developed a new series: Living and Loving Our Catholic Faith. This series is not based upon a calendar year but upon a contemporary thematic area within the Catholic faith. Designed for parish and diocesan youth ministry leaders it contains:
- a primer on the theme
- catechetical resources
- retreat suggestions
- musical suggestions
The upcoming themes are:
- 2009 – liturgy
- 2010 – saints
- 2011 – church
- 2012 – vocations
World Youth Day
In the United States the National Celebration of World Youth Day is on the 30th Sunday of Ordinary Time—usually the third Sunday of October. The theme is: “We have set our hope on the living God” (1 Tim 4:10). View the Message of the Holy Father Benedict XVI to the Young People of the World on the Occasion of the Twenty-Fourth World Youth Day 2009. Begin planning your celebration now.
NCYC
The new series will not have NCYC preparatory materials. For this year's NCYC participate in a virtual pilgrimage, follow NCYC on Twitter, and become a fan on Facebook.
