National Groups with Local Chapters for Young Adolescents

The National Catholic Committee on (Boy) Scouting (NCCS)

This committee of concerned Catholic lay and clergy is advisory to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and relates to the USCCB through its Episcopal Liaison (or bishop liaison). The purpose of the committee is to support and ensure the constructive use of the program of the BSA as a form of youth ministry with the Catholic youth of our nation. Each diocese in the United States has appointed a local Catholic Committee on Scouting. The National Catholic Committee on Scouting works with local diocesan committees to enhance Scouting programs for Catholic youth. The NCCS seeks to sustain and strengthen the relationship between BSA and the Catholic Church and works cooperatively with the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) and various other groups involved with youth ministry in the United States.
